All About the Delaware Defensive Driving Course

When it comes to taking a defensive driving course in Delaware you’ll actually have a few different options. That’s because we offer three different classes that can give you benefits for your overall driving style, your insurance costs and your driving record. You just need to take a look at the different ones available and decide which one will provide everything you’re looking for.

 

Basic Driving Course

The basic defensive driving course is a six hour online program that’s approved by the Delaware DMV and the Department of Insurance. You’ll get to take the course entirely online and at your own pace and schedule, which makes it easier for anyone to get through. You’ll also be eligible for up to 10% off your car insurance for three years and up to three points off your driver’s license for those with at least eight points currently. Not to mention you get to take the test until you pass. 

You could be eligible if you have never taken a defensive driving course or if you haven’t taken one in five years. 

 

Advanced Driving Course

The advanced defensive driving course is a three hour online program also approved by the Delaware DMV and the Department of Insurance. For this course you’ll have an entirely online system that you can follow along with at your own schedule. Once you’re finished we notify the DMV and you could end up with up to 15% off your car insurance for up to three years and up to three points removed for your driver’s license for those with at least eight points currently. On top of that, this is another course where you can take the final exam until you pass.

If you have taken the basic course or a refresher course already you could be eligible to complete this course. 

 

Aggressive Driving Course

If you’re looking to really improve your driving skills as a result of a situation with the DMV you can take the aggressive driving course. This program is approved by the Delaware DMV and is an eight hour intensive course that takes place entirely online. You get to follow along at your own pace and on your own schedule. Known also as an Attitudinal Driving Program Course, this one is designed to fulfill the DMV requirement. You’ll get a free certificate download immediately after you complete the exam (which you can retake as many times as you need to) and we notify the DMV for you.
