If you’ve recently received a moving violation and want to conceal points from your California driver’s license, we’ve got you covered at DriveSafeToday. Here’s how the traffic school process works.
Check Your CA Traffic School Eligibility
After a traffic violation or ticket, you’ll normally receive a notice from the court by mail. This document lets you know if you are eligible to complete California traffic school.
You’re likely eligible if you have a valid driver’s license, you haven’t attended traffic school over the past 18 months, and your traffic ticket was for an eligible moving violation.
Once you receive your notice of eligibility, take the following steps:
Plead guilty to the violation.
Pay any court fees.
Elect to take a CA DMV-licensed traffic school course.
Make sure you complete these steps before the court date on your ticket. You’re then set to enroll in traffic school and ensure points placed on your license remain confidential.
Complete an Online California Traffic School Course
It’s easy to enroll in traffic school with DriveSafeToday. Simply create an account online. You can even test out the material for free to determine if a course is right for you.
Once you’ve registered for a course, you’ll receive access to fun, engaging lessons with both text and audio learning options.
Since courses are 100% online, you can complete at your own pace without ever having to leave your home. You normally have 90 days to complete an entire course to stay within court requirements.
Receive Your Traffic School Certificate of Completion
At the end of a traffic school course, you’ll complete a final exam. You need to score at least 70% to pass, but we offer two retakes for free.
When you’ve successfully passed the final exam, we’ll immediately notify the California DMV that you have satisfied traffic school requirements (free of charge).
The court will then hide your ticket and points from your driving record. Great job!
Note: It’s always a good idea to call the court or check your record online to ensure that you were credited for completing traffic school.
DriveSafeToday California Traffic School is packed with benefits. From masking points on your CA driving record to learning valuable driving skills, this course ensures that you’re well on your way to being a safe driver.
1. Mask Points on Your California Driving Record
Taking a traffic school course means that your traffic violation is masked from the public eye. Points and tickets are no longer visible on your public driving record.
This is great news as potential employers will sometimes check your driving record before hiring you.
Completion of traffic school also protects you from having your license suspended. For example, your license is automatically suspended for 6 months if you receive 4 points within 1 year.
2. Save Money on Insurance Rates
Unfortunately, you risk increased car insurance rates when you receive a traffic violation. This can quickly get expensive and hurt your wallet each month.
Traffic school can help reduce your insurance rate. All you need to do is contact your insurance agency to ensure that you’re eligible for a discount.
You then complete the course and submit your certification of completion to the agency to receive your reduced rate!
3. Learn Valuable Defensive Driving Skills
Defensive driving skills are invaluable. These skills help make sure that you avoid driving accidents and violations in the future.
With DriveSafeToday’s course, you’ll learn about:
Driving in inclement weather
Avoiding aggressive driving behaviors
California driving laws
And more!
The material is designed to keep you and others safe on the road.
4. Study at Your Own Pace
An online traffic school course means that you don’t have to sit in a stuffy classroom. Instead, the course is 100% online, available 24/7, and can be completed on any device. Your progress of the course is automatically saved by DriveSafeToday.
We also offer the fastest traffic school courses allowed by law with no timers. You’re in control of how and when you complete a course.
5. Engage with a CA DMV Licensed Course
Not every online traffic school course is licensed by the DMV - which means that these courses aren’t certified to protect your driving record or insurance rates.
With DriveSafeToday, you have the confidence that our courses are fully licensed by the California DMV. We meet state education and safety requirements and are certified in all California counties.
Receiving a traffic violation isn’t fun. But with certified traffic school courses like DriveSafeToday, you ensure that your driving record is protected. You also become a safer, more responsible driver.
Stay safe by enrolling in DriveSafeToday's California Traffic School today!
